So, I go running every day, and for a few days I had been trying to increase my speed. At the end of each run, I usually found myself panting and walking like someone they just brought out of the oven. Being that I have been running consistently for about 2years, I knew it wasn’t my fitness; it seemed to be a mental block. With that puzzle in my mind, I read something today that reminded me that tension often militates against our effectiveness. So, I realized what I had been doing wrong. Somehow, I forgot how much easier I was able to complete tasks when I was relaxed. This is a strategy the best athletes in the world use. There is a superior strength that seems to be available to us when we relax. This idea of relaxing to achieve more seems to apply to almost any activity. How many times do we work against our success because we are trying too hard and consequently are tensed? It is possible to work hard and long but stay relaxed. In essence, ease or relaxation is a state of mind. So, when I went running today, I tried to keep a calm mind and wow! I was on fire. This was the fastest I had been in about 3months and probably the least worn out I was. I guess the problem was my state of mind. I was just suffering myself because of “gra gra.” If you find yourself trying too hard, step back, RELAX, and try again with less pressure.

Your health is your wealth
10.06
There was a summer I decided to get in shape for the coming soccer season, because I played soccer for my university. I ran everyday and changed to a more healthy diet. To my surprise the effect wasn’t only that I lost about 25 pounds in 3months, but my mental capacity also seriously improved. I wasn’t expecting the boost in mental capacity. This was the first time I adopted a healthy lifestyle for a prolonged period of time It was at this point I started to understand the statement “your health is your wealth.” As a result of a healthier lifestyle my mind became more effective, specifically I concentrated better, understood faster and was able to think a lot more creatively and profoundly. As you can imagine this mental boost had an effect on my work, I became a better student and entrepreneur, as well as a better soccer player
There is abundant scientific evidence proving that performance is correlated to physical health. A healthy person has a better chance of creating wealth. Some of the ways we can increase our physical health include, regular exercise, getting at least 7 hours of sleep, eating small meals and snacks about every 3 hours as suppose to large meals less frequently, and eating a balanced diet. Taking the time to learn about staying healthy can help in ones quest to a healthier life, remember knowledge is power.
Risk
10.01
Today I was at a seminar run by one of Robert kiyosaki’s companies, “Rich dad education”. The facilitator, who was a rather funny guy, told us all to bring out a dollar from our pockets. He then held in his hands, one of Roberts products which was worth over $400, and asked someone to come grab it out of his hand and pay a dollar for it. Most of us sat there second guessing, pretty much afraid to jump at this great opportunity. However, a bold gentleman jumped at the product, and ended up paying a dollar for it. When he stood up, the general sense in the room was that he must have been crazy, soon enough we realized that we were the crazy ones for not jumping at the opportunity. Most people in that room, where probably smart enough to know it was a hell of a bargain, however we were afraid to RISK looking stupid. This blog post is about taking risk. Many people seat back and watch great opportunities pass them by, because they are too afraid to take risks. Entrepreneurial success is about capitalizing on opportunities. Like that $400 dollar product, it requires stretching out, with the risk of some type of failure. The question is would you let that stop you? Well, many of us are stopped by the fear of failure; hence we don’t reach out for that great thing. I hope that if you find yourself in a seminar, and a similar opportunity is presented, you won’t do as I did. Hopefully by then you would have made risk taking part of you.
It costs a lot to be like the masses
09.27
Great men often walk alone. This is so, for the simple fact that very few people want to pay the price for success. Many desire success but very few do the hard task of climbing the mountain of success. This is why the way up the mountain can often be lonely. You cannot wait for the crowd to go with you, because they often don’t climb. Going with the flow or being like everyone would leave you at the bottom where everyone stays. Very few people do what Obama, kaka, Governor Fashola, and Donald trump do. To live an exceptional life, you have to be willing to do exceptional things. Don’t be afraid of what the masses would think, because that thought is the beginning of staying at the bottom of the mountain. Accept the fact that you are not normal, hence you can’t act normally. You are an exceptional person; some might perceive this as different, perhaps weird. However it is just an opinion, time will tell. Always have it at the back of your mind that it is ok to act differently, because climbing that mountain of success often means doing things different from the masses
What is your plan?
07.16
So, you want to be a millionaire? Please, sir/ma, what is your plan? One of the biggest causes of failure is the belief that luck would take care of everything. Don’t just sit down believing that your dream would be handed to you. A professor of mine once said, “Little men don’t come in at night to fix things. Luck does exist, in fact to be very successful; I think every one needs a bit of luck. However we can’t leave our dreams and aspirations totally to luck. . Heaven they say ‘helps those who help themselves. It seems that when we don’t take deliberate actions towards our goals, luck seems to be evasive. I once heard at a JCI meeting, that a vision without a mission is an illusion. In other words, if we don’t come up with a plan to accomplish our dreams, we are merely fantasizing. To accomplish anything, we need to have a realistic plan and execute around that plan. By a realistic plan, I mean one that is capable of giving us the desired results. In order to come up with this realistic plan, we need to understand what it takes to accomplish that which we desire. In our plan to accomplish our goals, we shouldn’t leave anything to luck, as this could lead to failure. Plan and execute as if you won’t be lucky, but also pray for luck. People who succeed take deliberate action. if you don’t do anything you would wake up in a year and realize nothing has been accomplished.
Entrepreneurs Add value
07.16
The function of a business is to add value to its customers and itself i.e the owner(s) of the business. Most business add value to their customers in form of goods or services, and they create value for themselves in form of a profit. Both functions should be seen as equally important.
Ensuring that you add value does’nt only make good business sense but its also ethical.
From a business prespective, if your customers are not truly benefiting by patronizing you, they wont be your customers for too long. A lot of business close down because they are’nt loyal to their customers, in terms of providing them value. On the other hand i think its unethical to not create value for your customer and still get money from them. The idea behind a business transaction is that two people make an exchange because they both benefit something. As a business you should always deliver your own half of the bargain. If people pay for quality catering service, as long as they make payment they should receive quality catering service. It is almost robbery to collect money and not perform. A low quality good or service could also be considered non-performance. It is unfair to the other party in the transaction because they have paid the full amount, hence you should deliver a hundred percent.
Clearly define what you offer your customer in terms of value and always strive to meet that standard, it is just as important as the value you seek to add to your company. Your profit does not exist if the value you offer doesnt exist, hence focus on both.
Eat that frog first
07.16
In his book eat that frog, Brian Tracy gives us insight to the old saying, “if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you’ll be satisfied to know it is probably the worst thing you’ll do all day.” Tracy explains that the frog is a metaphor for the most challenging task of your day-the one you are most likely to procrastinate on, but also probably the one that can have the greatest positive impact on your life”( Tracy 2). I find this idea, a very useful way of increasing our productivity. As Tracy explains, “the live frog” is usually the activities that has the highest impact on your life, although probably the most challenging. Hence by starting your day, doing the most important tasks we avoid procrastinating. This helps us move from busy-ness to efficiency, because with limited time, we get to take care of the most important things. This idea of eating that frog first helps us take advantage of the Pareto-principle, which argues that 20% of our activities are responsible for 80% of our results. So, don’t let’s leave the 20% till the end of the day, when we are most likely to procrastinate. Think about it, if you had to stare at that frog all day, you probably won’t eat it. To take advantage of this idea, we would have to resist the temptation to take care of small easier tasks first, which usually account for 20% of or results.
What the benefit of complaning
07.11
would like to thank everyone who actively participates in the NGG community or has been remotely involved with us. This community is us, and we are this community. We represent Nigerians who desire to develop our country. We are not concerned with complaining about the discouraging state of affairs in our country, but rather, we seek to fix it. This is not to say discussing or identifying our problems constructively is a bad thing. Constructive criticism is different from complaining The goal of constructive criticisms is to solve a problem. Complaining only stresses us and makes us bitter.
For every problem there is a solution. I think it is more beneficial to be a problem solver than a complainer. It is not only usually more financially rewarding to be a problem solver; it is also good for our spirits. This country has a million and one problems and the government can not fix them all. We have what it takes to fix some of these problems. The solutions to most of the problems we complain could be offered through a business platform. In other words we can make money solving Nigeria’s problems. Most people would pay to have their problems solved, as long as the solution is adequate, which is why people pay for pure water in traffic. Let’s stay focused on fixing Nigeria’s problems and get rich as a result instead of complaining and growing bitter and poor.
Think and grow rich

Think and Grow Rich
Think and grow rich by Napoleon hill is unarguably one the most influential success literature books. This great book is the result of interviewing 504 of Americans most successful men, some of which include Henry ford, John Rockefeller, and three American presidents. After 20 years of interviews, the author was able to identify 13 principles which were common to the success of the men he had interviewed.
The first principle he talks about is Desire. He explains that we must first have a burning desire to be rich, but that we also have to follow through with concrete action.
I would like to share with you, 6 step which napoleon hill explains transform desire into riches. The following list is a direct citation from the book, Think and grow rich
1. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire. It is not sufficient to merely say “I want plenty of money.” Be definite as to the amount.
2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire. (There is no such reality as something for nothing)
3. Establish the definite date when you intend to posses the money you desire
4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin at once, whether you are ready or not, to put this plan into action.
5. Write out a clear concise statement of the amount of money you intend to acquire, name the time limit for its acquisition, state what you intend to give in return for the money, and describe clearly the plan through which you intend to accumulate it
6. Read your written statement aloud twice daily, once just before retiring at night, and once after arising in the morning. As you read- see and feel and believe yourself already in possession of the money.
This book is a good investment for the aspiring entrepreneur. The overarching theme of the book is that “as a man thinks so is he”. Once we believe we can become rich our reality becomes so. The above steps are a way to help us strengthen out faith.
